How to know if it’s a boy or girl

One of the most exciting moments during your pregnancy right after hearing the heartbeat for the first time, is the moment where you find out if you are having a little boy or a little girl. Some people tend to not want to wait for the ultrasound to be able to find out what it will be.

There are a lot of things that people say that you can use to know if you’re having a boy or a girl, so what we are going to do is mention some of it. So this way there is something you can try to figure out before the day of the ultrasound.

Fetal Heart Rate

Whenever you have a doctor appointment, make sure to listen carefully for the baby’s heartbeat since according to some people, a faster heartbeat (above 140 beats per second) means that you will be having a baby girl, and if it’s under 140 beats per second this means that you will have a little boy.

But this has to be a little after the first weeks of pregnancy, since at the beginning of the pregnancy they will both be the same as the mother’s heartbeat.

Another simple way to determine what you are having is by looking more carefully at what you are craving, since a lot of people think that if during your pregnancy you find yourself looking for sweets, this means that you are carrying a girl.

And if you find yourself looking for anything that is salty or sour things, this means that you are currently carrying a boy.

Blood tests

At the moment you find yourself during your nine week of pregnancy, you will have to get a free cell DNA test, and even though this one is not made to get this result since here you can check for things like Down Syndrome and other conditions similar to it, you can ask the doctor if the sex can be determined through this.

So this way you can use this opportunity to know if you’re having a healthy baby and you can also see as a simple bonus, that you will be able to know what your baby will be a little earlier you would have before you have to wait to the 18 or 20 week pregnancy appointment where you get the ultrasound where you can tell the sex.

If you really want to know for sure what you will be having, the most usual way of finding out what you’re having is by waiting for that 18 and 20 weeks pregnancy appointment, where the doctor will perform an anatomy scan where you will finally be able to tell what the baby you’re carrying will be.

This tends to be the clearest way of finding out what you are having, but you have to remember that even during that appointment the doctor might not be able to tell you because of the position the baby is in, or any other factor similar to that, all you have to do is be patient until you find out what you are having.
